Who are your buyers?

Our buyers are EPC contractors, oil & gas companies, power generators, MRO providers and traders from all over the world. We show the identity and the profile of the buyer any time we float a RFQ to a supplier. As the RFQ is received, supplier can decide whether to bid or decline and the the terms of the bid. Any buyer, supplier and project information is shown transparently to the potential counterparts (buyer decides what to show).

Tell us about the workflow?

Buyer floats the RFQ, matching suppliers receive it, create and submit bids, receive the PO in case of award and buyer / supplier expedite the order online. Suppliers sell effectively on our platform and sales teams can focus on selling rather than low-value-add activities as clariying incomplete RFQs, exchanging emails and declining un-fit leads.

Do you accept any supplier?

We mainly target qualified suppliers from Europe, North America and Canada, Japan South Korea, UAE and the GCC. There is fair competition on our platform, and buyers can restrict either the accepted origins and the accepted suppliers for their RFQs.

How do you float RFQs?

New suppliers are requested to map their product portfolio at registration (it takes no longer than 30 minutes in case of wide portfolios, 5 minutes for shorter portfolios). As the portfolio of a supplier is mapped online, our "matching engine" is able to float suitable RFQs to the supplier. Suppliers do not need to upload any specific catalog, price list or stock list to work on pipingonline.com. Suppliers provide buyers with prices "RFQ by RFQ", depending on the specific terms of the RFQ and the originating buyer.

How do we receive buyer’s RFQs?

Suppliers see the RFQs in match with their portfolio on the "RFQ" page of their dashboard. We publish automatically and in real time any RFQ that match the portfolio of each supplier. As the RFQ is received ("new RFQ"), supplier can decide whether to bid or decline and the terms of its bid. We also notify suppliers by email anytime a matching RFQ is floated by buyers. 

How do we create and submit bids?

Suppliers create and submit bids in seconds, as the bid tables are already pre-populated with RFQs data entered by the buyer. Suppliers just need to add the few missing details, as brand, price, delivery date, to create and submit a bid. Any deviation between the RFQ and the bid is automatically tracked and highlighted both for the buyer and the supplier, to make sure it is not missed by either party.

Are our bids subject to confirmation?

Yes, you bids are submitted on "subject-to-confirmation" and "ex works" basis (we align the bidding terms of all suppliers, details as shipping terms, inspection, packing are negotiated right before the submission of the purchase order from buyer to supplier). Suppliers that are awarded with a purchase order have to reconfirm the order to have a closed deal.

Who is our contractual counterpart?

Suppliers deal directly with buyers on our platform, no middleman is in the picture. Pipingonline.com is a software provider and does not take part in any transaction financially and operationally. 

When do we get paid?

Based on the payment terms stated in the purchase order confirmation to the buyer. We do not offer credit recovery services at the moment.

Are buyers details visible?

Yes, everything is transparent on our platform. Buyers know which suppliers are bidding, suppliers know which buyer floated the RFQ.
